I program to check out Chiang Mai in early November this year (2011), during the loy krathong / Yi peng. I comprehend that this year the day will fall on the 10th November Thursday. The renowned release of the lanterns from the university grounds in mae jo, I realize is on the saturday just before the actual loy krathong / yi peng day.

This would mean the day of the big lantern release is the 5th November saturday? Please advise

I want to book my holiday and want to guarantee I do not miss out on this excellent sight!
I am after the date that the huge release of the lanterns at Mae Jo occurs. Any one know this date?
